Lost
I took this picture last year on the trail at the park in Dexter. I'm not sure at what point, but it was on the wooden portion (I assume near the river, but I don't know). This kind of reminds me of Glinda's bubble in The Wizard of Oz. The shadow underneath the bubble looks a bit iffy, but I think the whole thing looks really good.
My
I took this picture when I went to Chicago, for the 8th grade field trip, in front of the science museum (not directly in front, but it's pretty perpendicular and not that far away). This image almost loos fake to me, which is really cool because it's kind of messing with my head. This is my favorite orb image out of the three.
Marbles
I think this one looks more like a floating mirror ball than the others (possibly because it's a very bright image). I probably could have done more shading, but it still looks really cool (in case you haven't realized I think this effect is really cool looking).

In all of these polyscapes I wish the image of the city was bigger, but they still look good. On this one I think I made the ring too thick, which could have contributed to the triangle be smaller than I would have wanted.
The
The landscape was taken at this trail that I always forget the name of, but I have gotten a lot of good pictures from there. All of the cityscapes come from the same photo I took in Chicago when we were on the "cruise" (it was more like a party boat, but everyone called it a "cruise") on the 8th grade trip. Chicago was the most fun I had all throughout middle school and we were only there for three-ish days.
Disco
This landscape and the first one, in the polyscape series, was taken in the field behind my house when I was trying to get pictures of the barely-there clouds. In this image and the previous one you can see at least a portion of Navy Pier in the cityscape, it was underwhelming. Everything was really expensive, and there wasn't much to do. It was pretty at night, though.
My favorite image is "We're (2)"because it's the most textured, and one of the few that actually look like they could be a piece of art. This photo was taken of the doorway between the kitchen and the living room of my house. Most of the pictures were taken in or around the bathroom (it's an old house). By the way, the scratch marks you can see in some of the images have been here for as long as I can remember, most likely from a previous owner (probably a dog). There is no actual door between the living room and kitchen, just the doorway, but it looks like there was at one point (I think the kitchen and the bathroom came after the rest of the house, but I don't know).
Mirror World
This is the only one out of the three Hockney inspired images that I actually took multiple pictures of one thing for. Usually I'm so careful about brand names, but for some reason I wasn't on this project. A lot of the figures and stuffed animals on my dresser were gifts from my parents. I promise it doesn't actually look as cluttered as this.
Seussian
At first the cubist effect reminded me of the buildings in Dr. Seuss, but now it just looks like Monster House. I think the sepia makes my house look a lot scarier than it actually is (like from an old photo in a horror movie instead of a peaceful vacation home). I probably should have blurred out my address too. I really haven't been paying attention to details this project, jeez.
Shattered
This was the first time in years that my tulips have been able to bloom. I'm 99% positive that I planted these when I was really little. This effect on the flower made it look like a shattered mirror, which I thought was really cool because usually broken mirrors have a negative connotation attached to them (the opposite of how I feel about my tulips). The black and white really dramatized the entire image (I've been saying "really" a lot, haven't I).
